NZ FOR NYE- My Fave New Years Festy

NZ FOR NYE- My Fave New Years Festy

There’s nothing quite like the anticipation of waiting for the regular suspect New Year’s festivals to drop their line ups- think Falls, Beyond the Valley and Field Day. But perhaps it’s a lesser known festy across the ditch that your attention should be focused on.

Enter Rhythm and Alps festival in New Zealand’s South Island.

With alumni such as Matt Corby, Tash Sultana and Crooked Colours, Rhythm and Alps is a super cool festival that should definitely be on your radar. Held over 3 days in the picturesque Cardrona Valley just out of Queenstown, R&A allows punters to be some of the first in the world to ring in the New Year in style.

I know what you’re thinking- a camping festival in New Zealand sounds fun, but not so practical if flying in from overseas. That’s where Contiki comes in. From comfortable tepees and private hot showers, to profesh hair stylists on standby, there is no other way to do this epic festival. And if you’re worried about tackling Rhythm and Alps solo? It’s a guarantee that you’ll have a busload full of fab new festival friends within hours.

Not only is Rhythm and Alps one of the best New Year’s festivals around, it is also at one of the best locations. Think adrenaline pumping action, delicious food joints and pumping nightlife, all standard elements of a Queenstown holiday and just some of the Contiki trip’s highlights.

There are a couple of handy hints to know if you are considering heading to Rhythm and Alps to ring in the new year. It is definitely worth booking flights early. As it is a popular time for tourists to visit Queenstown, flight prices can often be quite expensive if you leave it too close to lock them in. Weather at this time of year is something to also be mindful of. Although it is Summer time, and the days are usually warm, temperatures tend to drop in the evening- so make sure some warm clothes are on your packing list.

Rhythm and Alps was hands down the best music festival I’ve ever attended. I made so many amazing new pals to ring in the New Year with, all while enjoying some epic artists together. To top it all off, doing it with Contiki meant I was able to explore the incredible city of Queenstown, and all organisation was taken care of. Rhythm and Alps with Contiki should definitely be considered for your New Years celebrations if you’re keen on epic scenery, a super fun festival and new friendships.

Sound like you? Head HERE to lock in this trip for just a $200 deposit.
